independent living skills
At AACT, we believe that every individual on the autism spectrum deserves the opportunity to live with dignity and independence. Our Independent Living Skills (ILS) program is designed to nurture this potential by equipping learners with essential daily living skills — including personal hygiene, cooking, baking, laundry, ironing, and preparing their own meals and snacks.
Through patience, structured guidance, and consistent practice, learners gradually build confidence and competence in these tasks. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to reinforce these skills at home, ensuring continuity and progress beyond the Centre. Over the years, many of our learners have mastered key life skills — small victories that open doors to greater independence and self-reliance.
The ILS program is more than a training module; it is a pathway to hope, empowerment, and dignity. Each milestone achieved is a reminder that with the right support, individuals with autism can thrive and lead more independent, fulfilling lives.
